The mission of Leadership Development is: to assist church leaders in the development and use of their gifts and to equip and lead congregations in ministry. Following are the goals of the commission: |

| NUMBER ONE: | To address the significant leadership needs of West Virginia Baptist Convention churches. |
| NUMBER TWO: | To address the emotional, physical, financial, relational and spiritual needs of West Virginia Baptist Convention clergy. |
| NUMBER THREE: | Plan and implement Leadership Training as an integral part of our statewide "Super Events." |
