The commission on Christian Leadership shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining state ordination accreditation criteria and ministerial credentials through the Committee on Ministerial Standing; for promoting Christian higher education through Alderson-Broaddus College; for developing programs of education for ministers; for providing leadership education for lay leaders in member churches, in cooperation with the Commission on Christian Education; for providing models, resources, tools and training to create an environment for renewal in local churches; for developing opportunities to enhance minister-church relations; for providing a support system for pastors and their families; and for designing support programs for use by churches with small membership.
